A friend has gone missing in Malia, Crete since the 1st of this month.

Poster Goes Missing

I know it is a long long shot, but if any of you know someone in Malia could you please ask them to be on their guard and keep a look out for Steve.

I would be grateful if this could be posted on as many sites as possible that you use. Even an Arsenal site has obliged here

Thanks

Snorky

Lets hope the best. But don't you think, that they are looking for him at a pretty early moment? I mean, 5 days is not so long for an adult person. hopefully, he met a very good bird or a bunch of crazy mushrooms. ;)

Any news on Michael Shields?

Steve's flight home is early Thursday morning. He has not returned to his hotel to pack his bags. If he misses the flight then I am really scared.

Michael Shields

He has an appeal hopefully in Varda on Sept 15th. Things are not looking good to be honest. The real attacker Graham Sankey is still being held in a police safe house for his own safety.

The Bulgarian Court asked the British Government to send Sankey over for questioning. But the brilliant British Government declined, as it would take "Too long to organise" UNBELIEVABLE.

There is now negative publicity in Bulgaria, the media there are hyping things up by saying that "The English are calling us barbarians" etc etc.

Michael has lost over 3 stone and is unrecognisable to many. I spoke to his mother the other week and she is just a shell of a woman and needs constant medication.

If the appeal in Varda fails, then he has one more appeal left in Bulgaria's highest court in Sofia.

Steve missed his flight home and has now been missing for over a week, I have just spoken to Chris again and also his father.

Chris is just about to go out again and there is another search planned of another area tomorrow.

His brother flies back home tomorrow and his brother-in-law flies in. They will hire a car tomorrow and cover some more ground.

His father is only getting news from Crete so it was agreed that I told him what we had done here.

His father was surprised and pleased of what everyone had done (emailing media, other websites etc etc) he seemed shocked that complete strangers should be doing this and asked me to thank you all.

He did say that a website will be up and running soon dedicated to Steve and he will phone me when it's ready so we can link it everywhere and anywhere.

I know FCB fans go everywhere, if you know of anyone over there or been yourself, please have a think to see if you have seen him.

Steve is on the left.

Very sad. Let's hope the best (both cases, Michael and Steve)

But as long greek police (and i hope they're informed) don't find any indication of a crime I would not give up hope...

Swiss tourist goes missing in Crete

Police have launched a search for a Swiss tourist who went missing near Iraklio on the island of Crete, authorities said on Monday.

The disappearance of the man, identified as Gerard Faton (phonetic spelling), 49, was reported by a Swiss friend, who told police he disappeared on Sunday while they were cycling on the Ano Vianno-Pyrgos road.

The two cyclists were about 150 metres apart when Faton vanished, the friend said. After failing to locate him, she contacted police.

Local residents are also searching for Faton, who was reportedly seen cycling from Pyrgos towards the Rethymno road.

No sorry I didn't :(

The latest:

11 days and nights and still no sign of him. An appeal has been broadcast on Crete tv and the local media are running stories every day. His brother is flying to Athens to appear on a show that helps find missing people.

It is nearly two weeks since Steve was last seen, we are not giving up hope but as each day passes with no news our hearts sink a little lower.

Please if you have been to Crete or know of anyone on Crete from August 31st, can you please think back and see if you remember him. Please check any photos day or night. Someone somewhere must know something.

Picture of Steve Cook

And one final please, if you go on any other forums - could you please please put a thread up about Steve.

I can be contacted at kev.ynwa@blueyonder.co.uk

Thanks

It is now 17 days and nights that Steven has been missing and there are still no positive sightings or leads.

Yesterday he would have been at the Liverpool Manchester United game, it was uneasy in the pub afterwards.

Please keep spreading the word on every forum you visit, someone somewhere MUST know something.

Thanks

5 weeks has now passed, there is still no news about my friend. His parents (both over 60) are suffering terribly with ill health.

His elder brother (Chris), is appearing on a Greek tv show tonight (Light in the Tunnel) on Alter tv. It is broadcast live across Greece at 23:00 local time (21:00 BST). This show possibly holds the final hope in finding Steve as it specialises in finding missing people. The show apparently has over 90% success rate.

Liverpool FC put an announcement in the Chelsea Champions League match programme. The family have now appeared on national tv asking for help.

He has missed his father's birthday, he has missed his enrolement to university for the last year of his course and his parents had to clear out his room, and he is missing Liverpool matches.

Despite having nothing to go on, I refuse to believe something bad has happened.

Did the police look in the sea (behind or under some rocks)?

Maybe he was drunk, wanted to go for a swim and then "something" happened :(

The sea is a possibilty, but if he did fall in his body would have been washed up somewhere by now.

All surrounding areas both on land and the the coast have been searched a few times.

The Coast of Kreta is very Rocky. There are tonns of Caves and Cliffs and after all, it's still the Greek-Police were talking about....

Dude, its been more than 6 weeks. You really think he'll turn up again???
