It's now entering it's 7th week, the police have ruled out the possibility that he fell/thrown into the sea.
My gut instinct is that he's alive out there somewhere.

There is still no word of Steve. British police have been over to Crete but have found nothing.
His family are going through hell, and his parents are getting very little sleep.
It appears that the Greek authorities just want everyone to forget he existed. If any of you are looking at booking for Malia in the summer for a holiday then I would seriously suggest you look elsewhere, the place is just not safe.
Steve will be 21 next month and his family just want to know what has happened, they want him home.................either way

Sometimes, these things just cannot be explained. I knew a person once who's son just suddenly was gone during a mountain hike. My friend never knew whether her son had commited suicide or had just had an accident.
It does seem rather cheap to just blame it on the greek authorities though.

To people who do not know him, he has been missing for 6 months now. There has been no sighting, his clothes have not turned up. Absolutely nothing. It is if he did not exist.
People will read this and say that he is dead, and that is understandable. Maybe he is or maybe he is not. But until we know for certain we cannot give up any hope, no matter how small that he will be found alive somewhere.
Some of the stories coming out of Crete are incredible, I would not recommend anyone to go there if you intend on getting drunk.
