ja, und vor ca. einer woche schwärmte er noch von den fantastischen fcb-fans, dass nur wenige das glück haben, vor so einer unglaublichen kulisse zu spielen etc.

mein tipp: nimm sowohl die positiven wie auch negativen emotionen der spieler nur halb so ernst, dann sticht es dich weniger im herz.

Hi guys! Just wanted to say how happy I am that this great goalkeeper has signed for our club. I've been forced to watch Basel by a friend of mine for some seasons now, and I really think he seems like a capable, reliable and experienced keeper.

Today I had an arguement with the same friend at work. He is norwegian-swiss Basler who used to be in Muttenzerkurve last season. After having worshipped this player for several seasons, he suddenly told me that it was Basel who didn't want Costanzo, and not the other way around. Can I believe this, or was it just the bitterness speaking?

He also said that Yann Sommer was just as good, if not better. Frankly speaking, this is something I can hardly imagine. Also, is it true that his wages from Basel were on 1,3 million euros a year? This sound highly unlikely, as his wages in Pireaus will be at 600k a year.

Last, I think you have a great club and a great set of fans. I was in the Muttenzerkurve for the Zurich-derby in november 2009, and I really liked it actually. Not quite like Karaiskaki, but not bad, not bad

Costanzo did not earn 1.3 Million Euros, rather Swiss Francs. And he was one of the most favored player in Basel, although he had a difficult start 5 years ago. He was finally the captain of the team...

...but our new goalie will be as good as him, he is quite younger but has great talent.

Costanzo will be missed anyway, not because of his football skills, but because of his character on and off the field. According to him, he will stay FC Basel fan, and the same way the FC Basel supporters feel for him.

First - yes this is true. Yann Sommer is a upcoming player from the reserves, playing right now as captain at the U21 European Championship for the Swiss team. The step of replacing Costanzo with Sommer was planned already a year ago.

And honestly, I don't know what Costanzo did earn in Basel. I just can guess that I don't think it was close to your 1.3mio €. Perhaps it was around 1mio, maximum. But this is just what I think. Neither the club nor the players communicate such numbers.

Alright. That Sommer-kid has barely left his diapers. Probably has a great talent, but is he better as of now? Just finds it kinda odd that Costanzo is willing to go to lower wages. Or it might be, as usual, just the Greek media fucking around.

I don't believe that Olympiacos is paying only 600'000 euro...

i think that it has to be more than 1mio euro and with a lot of bonuses like reaching the champions league and so on...

This club has over 90'000 members and a rich chairman
Strangers like Mellberg or Pantelic are expensive.

I think that that Costanzo earned about 800'000 euro playing in Basel so Olympiacos has to pay the same plus bonuses. That makes about 1mio a year

I guess he'll have stipulated premiums, so that he earns more or less the same as he did here in Basel.

Sure there is bonuses, and 600 000 is netto I suppose. Despite us being one of the three largest sport clubs in the world, Olympiakos don't have very high wages. Albert Riera is our best earner as of now, and he earns 1,6 mill a year. Our captain (Torosidis) earns just 450 000, while Antonis Nikopolidis, captain and EC-winner, earned 550 000 at most.

On the other hand, Rivaldo earned allmost four million in his last season...

also, ich weiss ja nicht, was costanzo beim fcb verdiente, was er verdienen wollte und was er jetzt in griechenland verdient, aber entweder schreibt die presse verdammt viel scheiss oder jemand hat hier verdammt schlecht gepokert und dann letztlich einfach das finanziell bestmögliche angebot angenommen.

Die 30 Mio sagen rein gar nichts über Costanzo's Gehalt aus, da kann er irgendwo zw. 500'000 und 5 Mio verdient haben ...

glaub aber scho, dass die Zahle mehr oder weniger stimme. Odr im schlimmschte Fall het sich Blick um 300'000 CHF verschätzt und denn het de Costanzo halt nur 1mio CHF verdient.

rein gar nichts, aber ich relativiere immer gerne ein wenig die grenzenlose euphorie einiger forum-user, die gewisse spieler als halbgötter darstellen.

ich finde es auch ein wenig kurios, um nicht zu sagen ungerecht, dass ein spieler wie in diesem fall costanzo eine solch riesige wertschätzung erhält, während andere mindestens so wertvolle spieler wie z.b. alex frei nur halb so viel sympathie entgegen gebracht wird.
